Occupational Health Screening Nurse

About the role

Join Durham County Council's in‑house Occupational Health Service as an Occupational Health Screening Nurse. You will contribute to workplace health and wellbeing by delivering a range of health assessments and screenings for council employees and external contracts.

Key responsibilities

• Provide immunisations to staff as part of the occupational health programme.
• Conduct health surveillance and fitness‑for‑work assessments.
• Support the delivery of a broad range of occupational health services.
• Work on‑site, including occasional evening shifts.
• Participate in regular clinical supervision with the nurse manager and Occupational Health Physician.

Required profile

• Registered General Nurse (RGN) or Registered Nurse (RN) – Adult or Mental Health qualification.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Enthusiastic, professional attitude and willingness to develop new skills.
• Commitment to training to become a fully qualified Occupational Health Specialist Practitioner.
