Occupational Therapist – Specialist Autism School (St Albans)

About the role
We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join a newly opening specialist autism school in St Albans. The role starts in September and focuses on supporting children aged 4‑13 with autism, developmental delay and related communication and social challenges.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct assessments and design individual intervention programmes.
- Support sensory regulation and promote independence in daily activities.
- Collaborate with teachers and support staff to integrate therapy into the curriculum.
- Develop strategies that enhance pupil participation, wellbeing and functional skills.
- Assist pupils with daily living and learning tasks.
Required profile
- HCPC registration.
- Experience working with children with SEND, particularly autism.
- Understanding of sensory needs and autism spectrum disorders.
- Enjoys multidisciplinary teamwork.
