Occupational Therapist – Specialist Children’s Services

About the role

The NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is seeking an Occupational Therapist with a passion for supporting young people up to 18 years old who experience mental health difficulties and neurodevelopmental issues. Based in the North CAMHS team at Woodside Health & Care Centre, you will join a growing multidisciplinary Occupational Therapy service.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a defined caseload, delivering assessment, planning and implementation of OT interventions for children and young people.
• Work autonomously while contributing effectively within a multidisciplinary and multi‑agency team.
• Use clinical reasoning to assess needs, develop treatment plans and evaluate outcomes in line with best practice.
• Communicate complex information clearly and compassionately to children, families and professionals.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and support service data collection, audit and governance activities.
• Support and supervise students and healthcare support workers as appropriate.
• Participate in continuous service development through training, audit and quality‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Strong interest in working with young people experiencing mental health and neurodevelopmental challenges.
• Willingness to work in a CAMHS setting; prior experience in mental health or paediatrics is desirable but not essential.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Excellent communication skills and a compassionate approach.
• Commitment to maintaining accurate clinical documentation.
