Occupational Therapy Team Manager

About the role

Northumberland County Council is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to lead its county‑wide Adult Social Care Occupational Therapy service. As the Occupational Therapy Team Manager you will shape service delivery, support professional development and help residents live independently in their homes and communities.

Key responsibilities

• Provide operational leadership to Occupational Therapy teams across Northumberland.
• Supervise, appraise and develop Occupational Therapists, Assistants and Technical Instructors.
• Manage referral allocation and ensure effective use of resources.
• Drive quality assurance, service improvement and implementation of strategic priorities.
• Make informed decisions on complex equipment and adaptation recommendations.
• Collaborate with internal and external partners to achieve positive outcomes for residents.

Required profile

• Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
• Significant Occupational Therapy experience in Adult Social Care or a related setting.
• Proven experience in supervising, mentoring or managing staff.
• Strong leadership, communication and decision‑making abilities.
• Passion for high‑quality service delivery and team development.
