Ocean Export Operator – Freight Forwarder

About the role

The Ocean Export Operator will coordinate and execute sea‑freight export shipments from our Purfleet hub, ensuring smooth movement of goods to overseas destinations. You will act as the primary point of contact for agents, suppliers and customers, delivering high‑quality service in line with client SOPs and KPIs.

Key responsibilities

• Manage full‑cycle sea freight export shipments from booking to delivery.
• Liaise with overseas agents, suppliers and customers to arrange shipments.
• Use CargoWise to create, track and maintain accurate shipment data.
• Monitor shipments and proactively resolve delays or issues.
• Prepare and process documentation for customs clearance.
• Coordinate final delivery to clients and ensure compliance with SOPs and KPIs.
• Support invoicing and job costing activities.
• Build and maintain long‑term client relationships.

Required profile

• Proven experience in sea freight export operations.
• Strong communication skills for dealing with overseas partners.
• Ability to monitor shipments and address issues promptly.
• Knowledge of customs documentation and clearance procedures.
• Attention to detail in data entry and record keeping.
• Customer‑focused mindset with a commitment to meeting service standards.
