About the role
We are supporting a freight forwarder in Braintree, Essex, seeking an Ocean Freight Specialist. The role combines customer service with end‑to‑end management of ocean shipments, operating in a hybrid work environment.
Key responsibilities
- Manage ocean imports and exports from booking through to final delivery.
- Maintain high standards of customer service and keep clients informed of shipment progress.
- Coordinate with the customs clearance department to ensure timely processing.
- Respond to client inquiries, resolve issues, and provide freight rates.
- Verify that all required documentation is complete for successful customs clearance.
- Maintain regular contact with colleagues, clients, and suppliers.
Required profile
- Minimum 1 year of experience in ocean freight.
- Hands‑on, adaptable approach to daily tasks.
- Superior communication abilities.
- Understanding of customs procedures.
