Ocean Import Operator & Pricing Coordinator

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Ocean Import Operator & Pricing Coordinator to manage end‑to‑end sea freight imports and support our commercial team with competitive pricing solutions. Based in Heathrow, you will act as the primary liaison between carriers, agents, warehouses and customers to ensure smooth shipment execution.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate ocean import shipments from booking through final delivery, liaising with overseas agents, shipping lines, hauliers and warehouses.
• Monitor shipment progress, communicate updates to clients and resolve delays or service issues.
• Arrange customs clearance and ensure compliance with UK import regulations.
• Prepare, review and maintain accurate shipping documentation and records in the freight management system.
• Verify supplier invoices and approve operational costs within KPI targets.
• Develop competitive import quotations, negotiate rates with carriers and NVOCCs, and maintain up‑to‑date tariff and surcharge information.
• Analyse market trends, support tender submissions and RFQs, and ensure pricing profitability.
• Promote the use of Cargowise for paperless quotation processes.

Required profile

• Proven experience in ocean import operations and freight pricing.
• Strong understanding of UK import regulations and customs procedures.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
