On-Site Plumber – Permanent Position

About the role

We are looking for a permanent On‑Site Plumber to join our facilities management team at HMP Featherstone. You will work a 39‑hour week on a rota, providing essential plumbing services that keep the prison safe, clean and operational.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine and non‑routine maintenance of plumbing systems.
• Repair mains water supply and carry out fault finding.
• Identify and replace life‑expired equipment, ensuring all faults are corrected.
• Conduct inspections, water sampling and risk assessments.
• Support any additional duties that align with the role.

Required profile

• NVQ Level 2 in Plumbing and Heating.
• Proven experience in plumbing maintenance within a commercial environment.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Willingness to work a rota that includes one weekend in four, with a 15% weekend allowance.
• Ability to obtain Prison Security Clearance (support provided).
