About the role
Join the pharmacy team at Springfield Hospital, Chelmsford, as an Oncology Pharmacy Technician. You will provide specialist support to oncology and haematology in‑patients and out‑patients, ensuring safe and efficient medication management.
Key responsibilities
- Take medication histories and complete medicines reconciliation on admission and discharge.
- Counsel patients and carers on medication use, supporting adherence.
- Prepare patient information in collaboration with pharmacists.
- Perform final accuracy checks of dispensed medicines in both oncology/haematology and main dispensaries.
- Support the home‑care team for patients receiving oncology/haematology treatment at home.
Required profile
- Registered pharmacy technician with the GPhC.
- NVQ Level 3 / BTEC in Pharmacy Services.
- ACPT qualification.
- Familiarity with EPMA systems.
Required skills
- Proficiency with EPMA (Electronic Patient Medication Administration) systems.
