About the role
We are seeking a dedicated Oncology Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Springfield Hospital, Chelmsford. In this full‑time position you will provide specialist pharmacy support for oncology and haematology patients, both in‑patient and out‑patient, ensuring safe and efficient medication management.
Key responsibilities
- Take medication histories and complete medicines reconciliation at admission and discharge.
- Counsel patients and carers on medication use, providing clear advice to promote adherence.
- Collaborate with pharmacists to prepare patient information and perform final accuracy checks of dispensed medicines in oncology/haematology and main dispensaries.
- Support the pharmacy home‑care team for patients receiving treatment at home.
Required profile
- Registered pharmacy technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
- NVQ Level 3 / BTEC in Pharmacy Services and ACPT qualification.
- Familiarity with Electronic Patient Medication Administration (EPMA) systems.
Required skills
- Proficiency in using EPMA systems for medication management.
