One-to-One Teaching Assistant for SEND (Year 4) – Morecambe

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated One‑to‑One Teaching Assistant to support a Year 4 pupil with Autism Spectrum Condition at a primary school in Morecambe. The role is full‑time, Monday‑Friday, 8:30 am‑3:15 pm, and starts in September. You will work closely with the school’s SEND team, class teacher and external professionals.

Key responsibilities

• Build a positive, trusting relationship with the pupil and support emotional regulation throughout the day.
• Deliver tailored activities and individual projects that meet the pupil’s interests and learning needs.
• Provide structured support both inside and outside the classroom environment.
• Encourage social interaction and communication development.
• Work towards agreed targets aimed at gradually reintegrating the pupil into the mainstream classroom.
• Record progress and give regular feedback to school staff.

Required profile

• Experience working with children who have autism and additional needs.
• Calm, patient and resilient approach with strong behaviour‑management and de‑escalation skills.
• Ability to work independently, take initiative and handle complex SEND requirements.
• Genuine passion for helping children achieve their potential.
