One to One Teaching Assistant

About the role

Join a supportive community at Martha H School, part of the Polaris network, to provide dedicated one‑to‑one support for pupils aged 5‑16. This full‑time, term‑time only position offers the chance to make a tangible difference in a vibrant, resource‑rich environment.

Key responsibilities

• Mentor and support a single pupil or a small group (up to six) throughout the school day.
• Assist the classroom teacher with lesson delivery, preparation, and marking.
• Monitor pupil progress, report concerns, and liaise with staff to meet individual needs.
• Supervise pupils during breaks, extracurricular activities, and school trips.
• Take on additional responsibilities such as food hygiene, forest school, or wellbeing initiatives.

Required profile

• Minimum GCSE Grade C (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics; A‑level or higher preferred.
• Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, preferably with SEMH pupils.
• Demonstrated ability in behaviour management and creating positive learning environments.
• Strong communication and relationship‑building skills.

Required skills

• Basic IT proficiency.
