On‑Site Plumber – HMP Manchester

About the role

Amey is seeking an experienced plumber to join the Facilities team at HMP Manchester. This permanent, on‑site role offers stable, long‑term work within a secure prison environment, with a regular schedule and attractive shift allowance.

Key responsibilities

• Perform reactive and planned plumbing maintenance across the prison site.
• Carry out mains water repairs and fault finding.
• Conduct inspections, water sampling and compliance checks.
• Ensure all work meets health, safety and Legionella control standards.

Required profile

• NVQ Level 2 in Plumbing.
• Experience in commercial or facilities management environments.
• Legionella (L8) knowledge is desirable.
• Ability to obtain prison security clearance, Standard DBS and Counter‑Terrorism Check (support provided).

Required skills

• Plumbing installation, repair and maintenance.

• Legionella control and water quality testing.
