On‑Site Plumber – HMP Manchester

About the role
Amey is seeking an experienced plumber to join the Facilities team at HMP Manchester. This permanent, on‑site role offers stable, long‑term work within a secure prison environment, with a regular schedule and attractive shift allowance.
Key responsibilities
- Perform reactive and planned plumbing maintenance across the prison site.
- Carry out mains water repairs and fault finding.
- Conduct inspections, water sampling and compliance checks.
- Ensure all work meets health, safety and Legionella control standards.
Required profile
- NVQ Level 2 in Plumbing.
- Experience in commercial or facilities management environments.
- Legionella (L8) knowledge is desirable.
- Ability to obtain prison security clearance, Standard DBS and Counter‑Terrorism Check (support provided).

- Plumbing installation, repair and maintenance.
- Commercial Facility Management practices.
- Legionella control and water quality testing.
