Operational Control Trainer

About the role

The Water Operational Control Trainer will design, develop and deliver training programmes for Southern Water’s operational teams. Working from the Durrington Head Office and online, you will ensure staff have the knowledge and skills required to meet current and future business needs.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver face‑to‑face and virtual training sessions across the water operational function.
• Analyse training needs and create comprehensive learning packages.
• Maintain and future‑proof course content to align with business objectives.
• Provide 1:1 performance coaching and support diverse learner cohorts.
• Communicate training requirements and outcomes clearly to all levels of the organisation.

Required profile

• Experience in training needs analysis, design, development and delivery.
• Strong communication and emotional intelligence to adapt to varied learning styles.
• Ability to work flexibly and adjust training approaches as business demands change.
• Understanding of water industry context and risk & compliance considerations.
• Preferably based locally to the Worthing head office.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite.
• Strong IT skills for incorporating technology into training.
