Operational Infrastructure Manager

About the role

You will lead the day‑to‑day operation of a complex infrastructure estate that spans Azure cloud, on‑prem data centres, networking, identity, backup, disaster recovery and security platforms. The role is hands‑on, with full ownership of stability, security, resilience and cost‑efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Own the daily performance, stability and reliability of all infrastructure services (Azure, on‑prem, networks, identity, backup, DR, security).
• Ensure platforms are monitored, patched, supported and healthy; maintain an accurate CMDB and up‑to‑date documentation.
• Drive risk reduction and technical‑debt remediation, including vulnerability mitigation, end‑of‑life system removal and legacy dependency reduction.
• Lead disaster‑recovery readiness: create runbooks, conduct testing, manage failover/failback and align with business‑continuity requirements.
• Act as senior escalation point for infrastructure incidents, perform root‑cause analysis and implement repeatable fixes.
• Manage relationships with outsourced support teams and external vendors, run service reviews and enforce SLA performance.
• Plan and deliver infrastructure change projects such as migrations, upgrades, tooling roll‑outs and hardware refreshes while balancing BAU workload.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading infrastructure operations in a medium‑to‑large environment.
• Strong ability to manage out‑of‑hours incidents and drive continuous improvement.
• Excellent stakeholder and vendor management skills.
• Leadership mindset with a focus on risk reduction and resilience.
