Operational Trainer – Care Home Training

About the role

Barchester Healthcare is seeking an Operational Trainer to deliver induction and development training across four care homes in the Wokingham, Reading and Bracknell area. You will act as the first point of contact for new staff, ensuring they are confident, competent and aligned with the organisation’s person‑centred values.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver induction and ongoing development training in line with Barchester objectives.
• Provide practical, hands‑on training across a variety of care‑related subjects.
• Plan and publish training calendars and keep employee training records up to date.
• Arrange induction paperwork, allocate a buddy and observe workplace practice.
• Maintain regular contact with new team members, offering coaching and support.
• Attend external meetings and conferences as required.
• Promote learning and development opportunities available within Barchester.
• Collaborate with Home Managers to implement individual personal development plans.

Required profile

• C&G 7300 (or equivalent) Diploma level 3 in Health & Social Care, or comparable experience in the social‑care sector.
• Working knowledge of legislative requirements in the care sector.
• Minimum two years’ experience delivering training.
• Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel between sites.
