Operational Trainer – Healthcare Learning & Development

About the role

Barchester Healthcare is seeking an Operational Trainer to deliver induction and development training across a portfolio of care homes and hospitals in the South East region. This home‑based role involves travelling to sites such as Banbury, Tewkesbury, Malvern and Oxford, supporting new and existing staff to work in a person‑centred, compassionate manner.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver induction and ongoing development training aligned with Barchester objectives and training metrics.
• Provide practical, hands‑on training across a variety of care‑related subjects.
• Plan, publish and maintain training calendars for the allocated homes/hospitals.
• Ensure employee training records are up‑to‑date and that induction paperwork and buddy assignments are completed before a new starter begins.
• Maintain regular contact with new team members, offering coaching and support as needed.
• Attend external meetings, conferences and promote Barchester’s learning and development opportunities.
• Collaborate with Home Managers to implement individual personal development plans.

Required profile

• C&G 7300 (or equivalent) Diploma Level 3 in Health & Social Care, or relevant experience in the social‑care sector.
• Minimum two years’ experience delivering training in a care setting.
• Working knowledge of legislative requirements within the care sector.
• Full UK driving licence.
