About the role
AO.com is seeking an Operational Trainer to deliver practical, safety‑focused training on material handling equipment (MHE) across its operations. You will ensure new and existing staff are competent, confident and compliant.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver day‑one inductions and hands‑on MHE training for new starters and agency workers.
- Assess, certify and re‑certify colleagues on a range of manual handling equipment.
- Maintain accurate training records and ensure mandatory training is completed.
- Collaborate with Health & Safety, HR and Operations to keep training aligned with compliance standards.
- Identify process improvements and raise training standards across shifts.
Required profile
- Full UK driving licence.
- Accredited MHE Instructor qualification (RTITB, ITSSAR or AITT).
- Proven experience operating various manual/material handling equipment.
- Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation.
- Confident communicator able to adapt training style to diverse learners.
Required skills
- RTITB / ITSSAR / AITT MHE Instructor qualification.
- Manual Handling Instructor qualification (preferred).
- Level 3 Assessing qualification or equivalent (preferred).
