Operations Assistant / Transport Planner

About the role

We are seeking an Operations Assistant who will also act as a Transport Route Planner for a leading distributor of construction and building‑materials. The successful candidate will support the Operations Manager, ensuring smooth daily logistics and compliance with health and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Operations Manager with day‑to‑day operational tasks.
• Plan and optimise transport routes for product deliveries.
• Maintain accurate records of shipments, schedules and compliance documentation.
• Communicate effectively with drivers, warehouse staff and external partners.
• Support health and safety initiatives and ensure regulatory compliance.

Required profile

• Motivated individual with prior experience in operations, logistics or route planning.
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work within a team.
• Willingness to learn company‑specific systems and procedures.
