Operations Buyer

About the role

We are seeking an Operations Buyer to join our expanding procurement team within a fast‑growing manufacturing business. Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, you will ensure the timely purchase of raw materials, components and consumables that keep production running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Raise and manage purchase orders for raw materials, components and indirect goods.
• Monitor supplier performance, expedite deliveries and resolve quality issues.
• Review daily and weekly MRP recommendations and align purchasing with production schedules.
• Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships, tracking KPIs such as quality, delivery and responsiveness.
• Support inventory control by maintaining optimal stock levels and participating in cycle counts.
• Maintain accurate purchasing data in the ERP/MRP system, updating supplier records, pricing and lead times.

• Organised and proactive procurement professional.
• Experience in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Effective communication and collaborative problem‑solving skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems.
• Purchase order processing.
