Operations Director – Transmission & Distribution

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Operations Director to lead daily activities for a leading player in the Transmission and Distribution (T&D) sector. The role is based in Reading and offers the chance to shape operational strategy within a dynamic, growth‑focused environment.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all day‑to‑day operations, ensuring efficiency, quality and compliance.
• Develop and implement strategic plans to boost operational effectiveness and reduce costs.
• Lead a team of operations managers and staff, fostering high performance.
• Monitor performance metrics, analyse data and guide decision‑making.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to set and achieve business targets.
• Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, suppliers and clients.

Required profile

• Significant experience in operations management, preferably within the transmission industry.
• Proven leadership ability with a track record of managing teams.
• Strong understanding of operational best practices and business management.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Relevant qualifications in business management or a related field.
