Operations Manager - Construction

About the role

Chap Group, a leading privately‑owned construction group in Scotland, is seeking an Operations Manager to take operational ownership of its construction division projects from inception to completion.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee delivery of multiple concurrent projects, ensuring safety, programme, budget and specification compliance.
• Lead, support and develop site management teams.
• Drive health, safety and environmental performance across all sites.
• Collaborate with the commercial team on programme, procurement and cost control.
• Maintain quality assurance and regulatory compliance.
• Build and protect relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and the supply chain.
• Contribute to pre‑construction and tender input when required.

Required profile

• At least ten years of experience in construction operations or senior site management.
• Proven track record of delivering projects safely, on time, within budget and to specification.
• Experience across a range of construction methods and project types.
• Strong knowledge of CDM, health and safety legislation and quality assurance.
• Confident communicator able to work with site teams, designers and commercial colleagues.
• Practical, hands‑on approach to problem solving on site.
• SMSTS and CSCS certifications.
• Full UK driving licence.
