Operations Manager - Defence

About the role

We are looking for a dynamic Operations Manager to lead the delivery of major defence and security events, including the UDT launch and DSEI UK. Based in the UK with a flexible office arrangement, the role involves significant on‑site presence during live exhibitions and occasional travel.

Key responsibilities

• Support end‑to‑end operational delivery of a flagship launch event in Germany.
• Manage event‑operations budget: forecasting, cost tracking and reporting to the Head of Operations.
• Negotiate supplier and contractor costs to maximise value.
• Coordinate build‑up and breakdown activities with venue partners, exhibitors and internal teams, ensuring compliance with Health & Safety regulations and Clarion EMEA standards.
• Develop and maintain risk assessments and health‑safety documentation throughout the event lifecycle.

Required profile

• At least three years’ experience in the exhibitions or events industry.
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to juggle multiple priorities.
• Proactive, adaptable and comfortable working under pressure in fast‑paced environments.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
