Operations Manager

About the role

Stirling Ellis is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead a 24‑hour food production and distribution facility serving international airline catering customers at Gatwick. You will be responsible for driving operational excellence, building strong customer relationships, and delivering on‑time, high‑quality meals.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop a 300‑person production team across three shifts.
• Manage supplier ordering, food manufacturing, and on‑time delivery to customers.
• Define and monitor performance KPIs to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Own monthly profit & loss, revenue maximisation, and cost control.
• Oversee digitalisation and automation initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with QHSE standards and embed best practices.
• Review menu cycles and implement product changes seamlessly.
• Maintain pricing strategy and profitability.
• Drive continuous improvement and uphold contractual obligations.

Required profile

• Proven track record leading large‑scale production or supply‑chain operations, preferably in food, FMCG or catering.
• Strong leadership with the ability to motivate and manage a large workforce.
• Forward‑thinking mindset focused on continuous improvement.

Required skills

• Lean process improvement methodology.
• Change management experience.
• Knowledge of QHSE standards.
