Operations Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead a well‑established industrial manufacturing site in St Helens. You will be responsible for translating the company’s strategic vision into actionable plans that drive efficiency, safety, and profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and continuously improve operating methods, equipment, systems and infrastructure.
• Design production work schedules that meet internal targets and customer expectations.
• Monitor process and personnel performance, removing impediments to achieve operational goals.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory guidelines and maintain a safe manufacturing environment.
• Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and apply corrective actions to enhance performance.
• Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide feedback and coaching.
• Drive efficiency initiatives and margin enhancement, including automation solutions.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Manufacturing Manager, Operations Manager or Factory Manager in industrial manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing safety, budgeting, quality management and performance management techniques.
• Demonstrated ability to apply Lean principles and Six Sigma methodology for continuous improvement.
• Analytical thinker capable of root‑cause analysis and developing effective solutions.
