Operations Manager

About the role

The Operations & Warehouse Manager will lead the Glasgow operational delivery for our client, ensuring sector‑leading service while driving efficiency, compliance and colleague engagement. This hands‑on yet strategic role balances daily warehouse leadership with continuous improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Lead daily warehouse and operational activities across Glasgow and surrounding counties, ensuring seamless, compliant, customer‑focused delivery.
• Manage storage, inventory and dispatch functions, guaranteeing accuracy, efficiency and full asset traceability.
• Coordinate schedules, resources and diary management to meet fluctuating customer demand.
• Act as primary operational contact for high‑profile customers, maintaining or exceeding service level expectations.
• Monitor and analyse operational KPIs (utilisation, turnaround time, stock accuracy) and drive data‑led improvements.
• Lead digitisation, automation and process‑streamlining initiatives.
• Support the Head of Relocation Services on divisional projects and act as deputy when required.
• Recruit, onboard and develop warehouse and operational staff, fostering a strong team culture.

Required profile

• Proven experience in warehouse or operations management, preferably within a relocation or logistics environment.
• Strong leadership and people‑development capabilities.
• Ability to analyse data, identify trends and implement improvement actions.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills, with a customer‑first mindset.
• Demonstrated cost‑control and resource optimisation experience.
