Operations Manager – Logistics Depot

About the role

DPD UK is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join its depot management team in Middleton. You will be a key member of the leadership group responsible for ensuring the depot runs smoothly while delivering outstanding service to customers.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day depot operations, meeting targets for cost, health & safety, security, productivity and transport.
• Recruit, develop and retain staff, ensuring compliance with employee‑relations processes.
• Manage the depot P&L through effective planning, reporting and cost control.
• Identify and implement innovative ways of working to improve operational support.
• Maintain high service standards while achieving challenging performance objectives.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in logistics, warehouse or distribution environments.
• Proven ability to run a fast‑paced operation and motivate high‑performing teams.
• Experience monitoring performance data and driving continuous improvement.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to influence strategy.

• Willingness to work any five shifts, including weekends, in a 365‑day operation.
• Full UK driving licence is essential.
