Operations Manager – UK

About the role

Quera Computing is looking for a hands‑on Operations Manager to strengthen the operational backbone of its growing UK site. Reporting to the VP of Finance, you will ensure daily activities run efficiently, support scaling, and act as a bridge between the US headquarters and the UK team.

Key responsibilities

• Design, document, and continuously improve core internal processes to support business scaling and headcount planning.
• Identify bottlenecks and implement automation solutions to boost productivity.
• Collaborate with Finance on budget planning, usage rules, and financial reporting.
• Coordinate communication and reporting between US headquarters and UK‑based team members.
• Support contract management and ensure compliance with export control, partner agreements, and other regulatory requirements.
• Assist procurement, inventory management, shipping, and receiving, including physical handling tasks.
• Partner with facilities teams to maintain the UK office and oversee timely repairs.
• Manage the UK administrative team and provide localized support for marketing, PR, time‑off tracking, and reporting.
• Oversee employee onboarding, orientation, and related HR activities.

Required profile

• 8+ years of experience in operations, management, or project management, preferably in an early‑stage startup.
• Proven ability to build operational systems from scratch.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills using data‑driven decision making.
• Leadership experience with cross‑functional influence.
• Experience with government contracts and compliance (e.g., InnovateUK IFS) is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
