Operations Manager – Warehouse & Transport

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead a busy multi‑functional warehouse and transport operation in Harlow. Reporting to senior operational leadership, you will own the overall performance, budgets and compliance of the site while fostering a high‑performing, people‑first culture.

Key responsibilities

• Full leadership of warehouse and transport operations
• Ownership of operational budgets and cost control
• Driving productivity, efficiency and continuous‑improvement initiatives
• Leading, developing and coaching management teams
• Ensuring customer service and operational KPIs are achieved
• Managing resource planning across the operation
• Maintaining compliance with Health & Safety, transport and site facilities regulations
• Supporting business growth through operational excellence and stakeholder engagement
• Producing operational reports and performance analysis for senior management

Required profile

• Proven experience as an Operations Manager in logistics, distribution, warehousing or FMCG
• Strong warehouse and transport management background
• Experience managing large operational teams through direct reports
• Commercial awareness with budget and P&L responsibility
• Track record of improving performance and driving continuous improvement
• Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills
• Strong understanding of Health & Safety and compliance requirements
• Ability to influence, motivate and develop teams at all levels
• Experience in a high‑volume, fast‑moving distribution environment is a plus
