Operations Supervisor

About the role

We are seeking an Operations Supervisor to oversee daily transport services for a well‑established passenger operator in the South West. You will ensure safe, reliable journeys while coordinating drivers, vehicles and support teams on a rotating shift pattern.

Key responsibilities

• Support the day‑to‑day delivery of transport services, maintaining safety and efficiency.
• Coordinate drivers, vehicle movements and operational resources to keep services running.
• Monitor live issues such as delays, road disruptions, breakdowns and vehicle changeovers, taking prompt action to minimise impact.
• Maintain accurate operational records including driver hours, attendance, mileage and compliance documentation.
• Investigate incidents, prepare reports and escalate safety or operational concerns as needed.
• Liaise with drivers, customers, contractors and internal teams, providing both operational and administrative support.
• Supervise the cleaning team and uphold day‑to‑day operational standards.
• Participate in an out‑of‑hours on‑call rota to provide support when required.

Required profile

• Previous experience in transport operations or a fast‑paced operational environment.
• Strong organisational ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent communication skills with a proactive, solutions‑focused approach.
• High attention to detail and accurate record‑keeping.
• Good geographical knowledge of the local area.
• Full UK Category B driving licence.
