Operations Supervisor – Warehouse & Branch Management

About the role

The Operations Supervisor will support the Branch Manager in ensuring the Plymouth branch runs smoothly and efficiently. This full‑time, onsite position combines warehouse oversight, staff leadership, and operational planning within a leading specialist trade merchant.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Branch Manager with daily operational activities and business planning.
• Oversee the warehouse and yard, guaranteeing safe and compliant handling and storage of materials.
• Supervise, motivate and develop a small team to achieve performance targets.
• Manage invoicing, account queries and contribute to financial processes.
• Maintain the fleet of vehicles and ensure timely picking and loading of deliveries.
• Coordinate forklift training and ensure safe operation of equipment.

Required profile

• Proven team‑leader or management experience in a warehouse or operations environment.
• Strong understanding of warehouse processes, including goods in/out, stock control and order fulfilment.
• Excellent communication skills with a proactive, hands‑on approach to problem‑solving.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work rotating shifts when required.
