Operative Assistant – Responsive Repairs

About the role

Join Fairhive Homes as an Operative Assistant in our Responsive Repairs team, supporting residents across Buckinghamshire. You will work hands‑on in property maintenance, helping to improve the quality of homes and the lives of tenants.

Key responsibilities

• Assist operatives with the installation of planned packages and responsive repairs.
• Work in void properties, preparing work areas and moving materials and tools.
• Remove existing fixtures, fittings and appliances to enable new installations.
• Learn and develop skills in plumbing, electrical work and carpentry under supervision.

Required profile

• Basic knowledge of construction, carpentry, plumbing or electrical work (preferred but not mandatory).
• Experience in a similar role or completion of a relevant apprenticeship.
• Strong willingness to learn and develop new technical abilities.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
• Basic IT competence.
• Commitment to equality and diversity in service delivery.
