Optical Area Manager – Multi‑site Leadership Role

About the role

The Optical Area Manager will lead a portfolio of independent optician practices across Cheshire, Lancashire and Oxfordshire. This senior role combines commercial responsibility with a strong focus on patient care and team development.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day performance of multiple optical practices.
• Lead, support and develop Practice Managers and their teams.
• Drive sales while maintaining high standards of patient care.
• Ensure consistent processes, compliance and quality across all locations.
• Collaborate with senior leadership on strategy, growth and operational improvements.
• Support recruitment, onboarding and ongoing development of staff.
• Travel regularly between practices throughout the region.

Required profile

• Proven multi‑site management experience (optics, dental, veterinary or retail).
• Strong leadership and people‑management capabilities.
• Commercially aware with a track record of driving sales performance.
• Confident communicator able to influence and support teams.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a car.
• Based within Cheshire, Lancashire or Oxfordshire.

Required skills

What we offer

• Salary up to £53,000 per year (range £45,000‑£53,000).
• £3,000 car allowance.
