Optical Assistant – Billericay

About the role

We are seeking a friendly and reliable Optical Assistant to join our Billericay store. You will be the first point of contact for customers, helping them with eye‑care needs and ensuring a smooth, professional experience.

Key responsibilities

• Greet and assist customers as they enter the store.
• Perform basic optical dispensing tasks under the supervision of qualified opticians.
• Maintain a clean and organized retail environment.
• Process orders, handle payments and manage stock levels.
• Provide accurate information about products, promotions and eye‑care services.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a fast‑paced customer‑service setting.
• Prior experience as an Optical Assistant or Dispensing Assistant is essential.
• Strong communication skills and a caring attitude towards customers.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Required skills

• Basic optical dispensing knowledge.
• Proficiency with point‑of‑sale systems.
