About the role

We are looking for a motivated Optical Assistant to join a well‑established luxury independent practice in Edinburgh. The role can be full‑time or part‑time and focuses on delivering a seamless, high‑quality patient experience from arrival to after‑care.

Key responsibilities

• Welcome customers and provide exceptional service throughout their visit.
• Carry out pre‑screening eye health checks and record results accurately.
• Hand over patients smoothly to the Optometrist.
• Dispense spectacles, advise on lens options and assist with frame selection.
• Fit, adjust and repair spectacles as required.
• Provide contact‑lens teaching and support.
• Manage collections, schedule after‑care appointments and maintain accurate administrative records.

Required profile

• Previous experience working in an optical practice.
• Strong communication and customer‑service skills.
• Professional, positive attitude with attention to detail.
• Organisational ability and a genuine passion for helping customers.
