About the role
We are seeking an enthusiastic Optical Assistant to join a busy optician’s store in the historic town of Saffron Walden. The role can be taken on a full‑time or part‑time basis and involves delivering a friendly, professional service to customers throughout their visit.
Key responsibilities
- Meet and greet customers, providing excellent customer service.
- Perform pre‑screening eye health checks.
- Hand over customers smoothly to the optometrist.
- Dispense glasses and assist with frame selection.
- Carry out frame repairs, adjustments and lens changes.
- Handle routine administration duties.
Required profile
- Previous experience working in an optician’s shop.
- Strong attention to detail and a customer‑focused attitude.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Required skills
- Glasses dispensing.
- Frame repair and adjustment.
- Lens replacement.
- Pre‑screening eye health checks.
