Optical Lab Technician & Manufacturing Assistant

About the role

Join Specsavers in Hayes as an Optical Lab Technician and Manufacturing Assistant. You will work in a busy retail‑linked laboratory, producing high‑quality glasses and supporting the store’s eye‑care services.

Key responsibilities

• Read lens and frame specifications from prescriptions.
• Operate blocking and glazing machines to cut lenses to the correct shape.
• Assemble lenses into frames and apply tinting for UV protection and colour options.
• Order frames and lenses, ensuring stock levels meet demand.
• Perform quality checks on completed glasses.
• Maintain a clean work environment and carry out routine machine maintenance.

• Strong attention to detail and an eye for precision.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Flexible, adaptable and able to manage time effectively.
• Motivated, hard‑working and organized.

What we offer

• Full‑time contract (40 hours/week) including weekends
• Salary of £27,000 per year, dependent on experience
