Optical Practice Manager – Edinburgh (Old Town)

About the role

Join a leading independent eyewear brand as the Optical Practice Manager for its Edinburgh Old Town store. This hands‑on leadership position oversees a small team of four, driving day‑to‑day operations, team development and an exceptional customer experience while delivering a modern, service‑led approach to eyewear.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the daily running of the store and own overall performance.
• Manage, coach and develop a small team, fostering accountability.
• Oversee dispensing activities and support complex customer needs.
• Drive commercial results using sales insights and KPIs.
• Maintain high standards of service, presentation and operational processes.
• Support recruitment, onboarding and training as required.
• Control stock, ensure compliance and manage store procedures.
• Act as a brand ambassador within the store environment.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing an optical retail store.
• Strong people‑leadership skills with a hands‑on approach.
• Commercial awareness and confidence using sales data.
• Excellent customer‑service standards and attention to detail.
• Clear communication, organised and calm under pressure.
• Comfortable working in a small‑team setting.
• Proactive attitude with full ownership of the role.
