Optometrist – Fixed-Term Part-Time Position

About the role

Vision Express is seeking a qualified optometrist to join its Bluewater store on a one‑year fixed‑term, part‑time basis. You will work in a fully equipped retail environment using state‑of‑the‑art OCT and Phoropter equipment to provide high‑quality eye care.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive eye examinations and deliver clear diagnoses.
• Utilise OCT imaging to assess retinal health.
• Perform refraction assessments using a Phoropter.
• Provide patients with appropriate vision correction recommendations.
• Collaborate with store managers and fellow optometrists to maintain service standards.

Required profile

• Qualified optometrist registered with the General Optical Council (GOC).
• Strong clinical expertise and ability to build patient confidence.
• Team‑oriented mindset with good communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with OCT (Optical Coherence Tomography) imaging.
• Experience operating a Phoropter for refraction assessments.

• Salary up to £79,000 per annum (dependent on experience and location).
