Optometrist – Full/Part‑Time Position

About the role

As an Optometrist at Specsavers in Edinburgh you will deliver eye examinations and contact lens services, ensuring patients receive high‑standard clinical care while supporting the store’s business objectives. You will work closely with the optical team to create a welcoming environment and uphold the brand’s reputation for clinical excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive eye examinations and prescribe corrective lenses.
• Provide contact lens fitting, advice and follow‑up care.
• Maintain accurate patient records in line with GOC regulations.
• Collaborate with store staff to achieve sales targets and deliver exceptional customer service.
• Stay up‑to‑date with the latest optical technology and clinical best practices.

Required profile

• Current registration with the General Optical Council (GOC).
• Strong passion for delivering excellent patient care.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Excellent communication skills and a customer‑focused attitude.

Required skills

• Proficiency in conducting eye examinations and interpreting results.
• Experience with contact lens fitting and management.
• Knowledge of optical dispensing and regulatory compliance.

• Salary up to £65,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
