Optometrist – North Shields

About the role

Vision Express is seeking a qualified optometrist to join its North Shields store. Working Tuesday to Saturday, you will use state‑of‑the‑art equipment to assess patients, provide diagnoses and recommend solutions in a busy retail environment.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive eye examinations using OCT and phoropter equipment.
• Deliver clear diagnoses and appropriate optical prescriptions.
• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with GOC regulations.
• Collaborate with the store team to achieve sales and service targets.
• Participate in the TG Pool to cover additional shifts as needed.

Required profile

• GOC‑registered qualified optometrist.
• Strong clinical expertise and ability to build patient confidence.
• Team‑oriented attitude and willingness to share ideas.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) equipment.
• Experience using a phoropter for refraction testing.
