Optometrist – Up to £78k + Bonus – Flexible Hours

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Optometrist to join our independent practices in Frinton‑on‑Sea and Dovercourt, Essex. The role offers a flexible schedule, with options for full‑time or part‑time work and adaptable Saturday hours, allowing you to balance professional development with personal commitments.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct 30‑45 minute sight tests for a diverse patient base.
• Collaborate closely with an experienced dispensing optician and support team.
• Utilise advanced retinal imaging equipment, including OCT.
• Perform visual field assessments carried out by the support team.
• Run contact lens clinics and support local shared‑care schemes such as MECS.
• Provide services across two well‑established practices.

Required profile

• Registered with the General Optical Council (GOC).
• Strong communication and patient‑focused approach.
• Commercial awareness while maintaining high clinical standards.
• Interest in developing further clinical skills.
• Preferably experience with contact lenses.

Required skills

• OCT retinal imaging.
• Visual field testing.
• Contact lens fitting and assessment.
