Oracle DBA – Hybrid (Northwich)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Oracle Database Administrator to join our growing IT team in Northwich. The role is hybrid, with three days a week in the office after an initial three‑month on‑site period, and offers the chance to own and enhance a modern Oracle estate supporting critical business platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor database health, availability, capacity and performance using proactive alerting and trend analysis.
• Administer Oracle databases and Linux platforms, ensuring secure and efficient operations.
• Manage backups, restores, migrations, environment refreshes and Oracle APEX environments.
• Develop and test disaster‑recovery and backup strategies.
• Perform performance tuning, capacity planning and optimisation.
• Support patching, upgrades and lifecycle management of Oracle software.
• Maintain security, compliance and auditability across all database environments.
• Automate routine tasks through scripting and tooling.
• Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to deliver reliable database services.
• Participate in planned out‑of‑hours maintenance when required.

Required profile

• Logical problem‑solver with strong analytical abilities.
• Proactive approach to database administration.
• Comfortable working independently and collaborating across technical and business teams.

Required skills

• Oracle Database Administration (Oracle 19c or later preferred).
• Backup and recovery, performance tuning, monitoring, security and high availability.
• Oracle Enterprise Manager administration.
• Oracle WebLogic administration.
• Linux administration and shell scripting.
• Enterprise backup, recovery and data‑protection solutions.
• Performance monitoring and optimisation.
