Orthopaedic & Spinal Scrub Nurse / ODP – Full‑time

About the role

Join the theatre team at New Hall Hospital in Romsey as an Orthopaedic or Spinal Scrub Nurse / Operating Department Practitioner. You will provide sterile scrub support for a range of orthopaedic and spinal procedures in a modern, laminar‑flow operating environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain the sterile field for orthopaedic and spinal surgeries.
• Assist surgeons by passing instruments, sutures and supplies during procedures such as hip and knee arthroplasty and ACL reconstruction.
• Collaborate with anaesthetic and nursing staff to ensure patient safety and efficient workflow.
• Document surgical counts and equipment usage in accordance with hospital policy.

Required profile

• Current registration with the NMC or HCPC.
• Proven scrub experience in orthopaedic theatre, including hip and knee arthroplasty.
• Desirable experience in spinal scrub and anaesthetic support.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Flexible, positive attitude and empathetic approach to patient care.
