Out of Hours Intervention Worker

About the role

Hestia Housing and Support is seeking an Out of Hours Intervention Worker to join its Criminal Justice Service in Highbury. You will provide essential administrative and frontline support during out‑of‑hours periods, helping residents of Approved Premises maintain safety, compliance and wellbeing.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and compile documentation on residents’ medication, curfews and sign‑in registers.
• Conduct welfare checks on residents and record information accurately in electronic databases.
• Monitor compliance with curfew, drug and alcohol testing, and liaise with on‑call managers, probation officers and police.
• Maintain health, safety, security, cleanliness and hygiene of the premises using CCTV, direct observation and inspections.
• Share timely updates with colleagues, multi‑agency partners and management to support risk management and safeguarding.
• Identify and address emerging issues, ensuring confidentiality and high‑quality record‑keeping.

Required profile

• Ability to maintain firm boundaries while working pro‑socially with diverse individuals.
• Understanding of trauma impact and capacity to support varied emotional and behavioural responses.
• Strong communication and engagement skills, with a flexible, optimistic approach.
• Willingness to learn quickly, gather information, and make defensible decisions.

Required skills

• Proficiency with electronic record‑keeping systems.
• Experience using CCTV and other monitoring tools.
• Basic administrative competencies (document preparation, data entry).
