Outreach SEN Tutor (One-to-One)

About the role

We are looking for compassionate specialists to deliver personalised one‑to‑one tuition for children and young people with special educational needs across Croydon and surrounding areas. You will work flexibly, supporting learners for 10‑15 hours per week (with the possibility to increase) and help them overcome barriers such as autism, ADHD, dyslexia, anxiety and more.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver engaging, high‑quality one‑to‑one tuition tailored to each learner’s needs.
• Plan and prepare lessons that align with EHCP outcomes and personalised learning plans.
• Monitor, record and report learner progress regularly.
• Build positive relationships with students, families and support staff.
• Adapt teaching strategies to maximise engagement, confidence and independence.
• Support learners in achieving their educational goals.

Required profile

• At least 2 years’ experience supporting children or young people with SEND.
• Strong knowledge of a range of SEND needs (e.g., autism, ADHD, dyslexia, SEMH, speech & language).
• Qualified Teachers (QTS/PGCE), SENCOs, Outreach Tutors, Alternative Provision or Specialist Intervention practitioners are welcomed.
