Outreach SEN Tutor – One‑to‑One Specialist Tuition

About the role

We are seeking experienced SEN tutors to deliver one‑to‑one specialist tuition to children and young people in Haringey and surrounding areas. The role is flexible, part‑time and contract‑based, allowing you to work around your lifestyle while making a tangible difference to learners with additional needs.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver personalised 1:1 lessons tailored to each learner’s SEND profile.
• Monitor, record and report progress to students, families and the managing team.
• Adapt teaching strategies to engage learners with autism, ADHD, dyslexia, dyscalculia, speech & language needs, SEMH, anxiety and other barriers.
• Support learners in achieving EHCP outcomes and personal learning goals.
• Maintain a positive, supportive relationship with students and their families.

Required profile

• Minimum two years’ experience working with children or young people with SEND.
• Strong knowledge of a range of SEND needs and interventions.
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), PGCE, SENCO, or equivalent specialist qualification is preferred.
• Ability to work independently and manage a flexible timetable of 10‑15 hours per week (with potential to increase).

Required skills

• Experience delivering one‑to‑one specialist tuition.
• Understanding of autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, dyslexia, dyscalculia, speech & language difficulties, and SEMH.
• Proficiency in creating and following personalised learning plans.
