Outreach & Sustainment Officer – Waltham Forest

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated Outreach & Sustainment Officer to support people who are sleeping rough or at risk of homelessness in Waltham Forest. The role involves proactive, trauma‑informed outreach and ongoing tenancy sustainment to help individuals achieve stable, long‑term housing.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct trauma‑informed outreach and engagement with vulnerable individuals.
• Perform needs and risk assessments and refer to housing, health, welfare and specialist services.
• Provide tenancy sustainment support, helping service users settle into temporary accommodation, supported housing or independent living.
• Facilitate multi‑agency partnership working and coordinate person‑centred interventions.
• Ensure safeguarding, risk reduction and support for individuals with complex needs.

Required profile

• Compassionate and dedicated to helping vulnerable people.
• Experience working with rough sleepers or individuals at risk of homelessness.
• Knowledge of homelessness, housing support and multi‑agency collaboration.
• Ability to conduct assessments and deliver person‑centred support.
