Outsourcing Assistant (Assistant Accountant)

About the role

Join a forward‑thinking accounting firm in the City of London as an Outsourcing Assistant. You will act as an extension of the internal finance team, maintaining accurate books for a portfolio of clients while gaining real client exposure.

Key responsibilities

• Process sales and purchase invoices, receipts and payments in client accounting systems.
• Perform regular bank reconciliations across multiple client accounts and resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain purchase, sales and nominal ledgers, ensuring correct coding and allocation.
• Assist with month‑end close, preparing balance‑sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules.
• Prepare and review monthly and quarterly management accounts, including variance analysis and commercial commentary.
• Manage client finance inboxes, respond to supplier and stakeholder queries, and process incoming invoices and payment requests.

Required profile

• Detail‑oriented with a strong focus on accuracy.
• Good communication skills and a friendly, dependable approach.
• Eager to develop technical accounting skills while studying or early in a finance career.
