Packaging Development Manager

About the role

We are looking for a Packaging Development Manager to join our Technical team at KP Snacks in Billingham. In this pivotal role you will lead packaging development and optimisation, ensuring our snack products are safe, high-quality and consistent.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the site packaging expert and technical lead, providing day-to-day support to production and troubleshooting packaging issues.
• Design, develop and optimise packaging solutions for new products, product renovations and cost-saving initiatives.
• Conduct factory trials, support production and solve problems on the shop floor.
• Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Procurement, R&D, Marketing and Project teams to deliver best-in-class packaging.
• Coach and develop colleagues, building capability and promoting a “Right First Time” culture.
• Contribute to sustainability goals by reducing waste and improving packaging performance.

Required profile

• Proven experience in packaging development or optimisation within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of food‑snack packaging requirements and regulations.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally and influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Hands‑on approach with experience in factory trials and production support.
